Her work is associated with the theory of Gesamtkunstwerk, also the title of her recent thesis. This term identifies her process as the culmination of multiple different art forms coming to create a cohesive whole.
In the past 8 years, Mona has been cultivating series in her fine art works juxtaposing and appropriating iconic imagery with enriching messages that are inspired by objectivity, value, spirituality, women’s choice and the nuances of the human experience. Her monochrome and sculpture-like portraits in contrast to bold color objects and backgrounds are her distinct illustrative style. Grayscale tones symbolize the living as she leaves the the grains of the wood exposed making the portraits appear life-like. Through trial and extreme persistence playing with charcoal, Mona has developed a technique that is unique to her own working intimately with wood. The results emanate an old practice of pyrography only She creates richness in her tones through repetition of layers and not burning the wood. Using multi mediums her works are rich in color and detail. Her network of clients consist of celebrities and HNWI such as her most recent collaboration with Mike Tyson. In Addition to her paintings, Mona is currently spending her days in Los Angeles building a start up luxury Fashion brand, with a team of ambitious individuals with her role as their Creative Director.
